The International Relations Office was established as an independent unit in 2017, following its separation from the Public Relations Department. The Office commenced its activities under the supervision of Dr. Kourosh Dalvandi. In 2019, upon the directive of the President of Arak University of Medical Sciences, the management and leadership of the Office were entrusted to Dr. Bahram Jalaei, a faculty member of the University, marking the beginning of a new phase in the development of the Office’s activities.

During this new phase, a range of strategic initiatives was developed to advance the internationalization of the University. These initiatives include establishing collaborative Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with international affairs offices of other universities; providing training and developing internationalization guidelines for staff across various university departments; redesigning and implementing the University’s English-language portal; translating international accreditation standards and regulations; distributing self-assessment forms to other university units; and making concerted efforts to attract international students to undergraduate and postgraduate programs, among other initiatives.

The comprehensive activities undertaken by the International Relations Office, together with the unique historical and cultural heritage of Markazi Province, provide a promising foundation for the further development of the University’s international engagement. Markazi Province has a distinguished historical legacy and has been home to numerous prominent figures in the fields of science, religious scholarship, politics, and the arts, whose dedication and contributions have generated significant and lasting value for Iran. This rich heritage offers considerable potential for fostering a dynamic and prosperous future for the internationalization of the University.

The International Relations Office is committed to drawing upon this valuable heritage while promoting and showcasing the academic capacities, capabilities, and potential of Arak University of Medical Sciences at the international level. Through these efforts, the Office seeks to contribute to a distinguished and sustainable future for the University and, in turn, play a meaningful role in the advancement and development of the country.

In 2025, upon the directive of the President of Arak University of Medical Sciences, the leadership of the International Relations Office was entrusted to Dr. Saeidi, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the Office’s activities and furthering its commitment to the University’s internationalization objectives.
